So this is going to be a bit difficult to explain but I am going to do my best....
Felix does this weird sort of walk all the time.....he will fluff all his feathers out & fan his tail (not every time tho) out and stick his head up high and then when he takes a step he swoops his head down and then back up with his next step. When he takes a step he also kind of limps but not from being in pain...he almost looks like he's doing a type of 'gangster' limp if that makes any sense at all

Has anyone else witnessed this type of gait from their conure/parrot? He looks cute when he does it but I have no idea what it means if anything at all..... Anyone care to speculate???

Thanks :)

I think this is breeding or mating posturing. He might be defending you or doing a little dance to woo you! I actually took jade to the vet because he was acting so strangely on Saturday and was doing what you're describing, among other things. Turned out he was just showing how much he loves me! I felt a bit silly to have paid $150 to find out that my bird is essentially "lovesick".

Lol awwwwweeeee okay ..... I'm happy it could be a 'I love you' walk and not a 'I'd rather not be near you' walk.....he does this walk for both my husband & I so I will take it as a good sign.....

That's $150 worth of free and good advice.
LOL.

Your birdy is doing a little showing off for you.

Petri does the same thing to me. He likes to go on top of my aquarium and show off to me. It's like his dance stage, pretty ridiculous lol.
