I cant figure out why my GCC Poops almost as soon as its out of the cage. I'm not talking the normal small poo. It looks like he's storing it up for when he is let out. Is there a way to break this? As of right now if I take him out I put him on the perch until he poops, then pick him up.

Is this normal behavior or is it spite for being in the cage?

If he is young he may be trying not to pop in his nest. Put a trash can out side his cage and when you take him out hold him above it and tell him to go poop.

Sounds like he's potty trained all by himself!!!

But he does need to go inside his cage, too, if he can't come out to poo when he needs to... (i.e. you are away from home or can't have him out at that moment)

Our Amazon does this. Her biggest poop of the day usually comes after we get up and let her out. She doesn't want that giant mess in her cage! Lol

I guess I'll just stick to the perch routine for now. I guess its okay for now. Just cant let him fly out on his own as he poops mid flight. LOL.
