Indian Ringnecks!?

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone on here had a indian ringneck or has one?? i am getting one this saturday & i was wondering how they are like, i have read about em, but i would like to know how to tame them etc, the one im buying is from a pet shop & it is not tame, also, for them to start talking, do they need to be tame?? & how quickly can they be tamed?? i know its a matter of patience, but i was just wondering & im really excited to get him, he is a boy but not sure of the age yet, i was just wondering ifyou could give me more info etc, because we live next to a forest filled with ringnecks & if i was to put the cage outside, would it attract other ringnecks??

i got an indian ringneck yesterday and i too am interested in taming etc - you have saved me the trouble of starting a new thread

mine is 'from last year's stock' so he has been in that pet store for over 6 months with NO interaction, poor thing.

keep me informed - would be interesting to see how we both get on!!

I havent got the ringneck yet, but i will be on saturday & it is a male, i will call him kiwi! & yes, it will be great to see how they both get on!

I have a green ringneck for about 2 months... He is not scared or anything any more but he doen't like to be touched a lot...

Some problems have appeared though..
First, I think he sees my fingers as food and sometimes this hurts.
Moreover, he only comes to my hand only when he sees that I 'll give him some food or else he just ignores me.

Finally, from what I heard Ringnecks DO mimick human voice but so far although I am trying to speak to him for hours he just screams...

Any article on how to cut a parrots feathers?

i got my IRN from a friend he sold it to me, he is shy, im trying to tame him, i read that they are easy to tame n will lose its friendliness with people if it doesn't get much attention
