Hi folks,
My name is Jack and I've been an owner of a blue Indian ringneck for about a couple of months now. It's my first time owning a bird let alone a parrot.
After the first wee while settling into her cage we noticed that she had a small injury on the tip of her wing ( I believe it's called a "Radiale" after consulting google images )
We treated it with warm water and salt, every day dabbing the wound, it eventually scabbed over and stopped bleeding but she keeps knocking herself and reopening the wound and when she gets a chance she just rips the scab off.
She was taken to the vet and he gave her a course of antibiotics for 10 days, unfortunately due to living in a really remote location an "avian" expert is not available (Scotland United Kingdom)
Is there anything anyone could recommend?
I don't know if there is some sort of bandage although I'd imagine she would just rip this off?
She doesn't appear to be in any pain although obviously finds flying very difficult, she has been clipped too though.
Thanks
