2 Budgies (Sky and Angel)
Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum and to birds.
I have two Kakariki's their names are George and Mildred, they are yellow with red crowns on their heads, they are very beautiful but quite nervous, they like me to talk to them but keep their distance.

I have just finished building them an outside Aviary and have had them in it for a couple of hours today, it's a bit cold at this time of year in the UK so will be keeping them in the house for most of the time, I just wanted to give them a couple of hours flying time in a more confined space, when I let them out in the house I have problems getting them back in their cage.

Well that's all for now, no doubt I will have more questions as time goes by.

Thank you everyone, they are very pretty, the pictures don't do them justice.
I have ordered a bigger cage for them, when it comes and they are settled in I will be getting two budgies, I think I am getting a tad bit obsessive with birds :)

Welcome to the forum. Be careful, I too started with two kakarikis, now I have nine birds in all! Kakarikis are great birds, love and need to fly. Luigio came with no tail because he chewed it off, it took one year to grow back. Now they're in a bird room ( there are cages in there, but all doors are open) I added a 6 month old "pet store rescue" kak and a seven year old BH with them in the bird room, and everyone was accepted ( so far). Kakarikis are very intelligent, and get bored very easily. I hope to see more pictures of your babies.

Unfortunately my downstairs is open plan so I can't give them free flying time, I have fitted a door to my kitchen, when I go in there I take their cage with me so they can have some free space for a couple of hours.
About feeding, which seed mix should I be feeding ?, I have been giving them a Parrot mix but from what I have read on these forums I should be feeding a Cockatiel mix, they have plenty of fresh food as well.
They are loving their new cage and are not as apprehensive about me as they were, although they don't want to be handled !.
