Parrots
Momma to Mochi- Cinnamon Green Cheeked Conure. Hatched 4/18/16
And the new baby, Romeo- Hahn's Macaw. Hatched 4/26/18
So, i wanted to get another friend as the birdies are my love. I went to get a flight harness, and walked out with a 6m.o. Hahns Macaw. Sexed as male, and his hatch date was April 26th of this year. Omg. Just omg. He walked around the store with me, and just melted into my chest. I cannot wait to begin our life together. Mochi so far, has been ok. I promptly set up his old cage, and its a decent size, so it was a bit of rearranging perches and toys, but everyone is as happy as a clam. Now, i just need a name. And adult supervision when going to the bird shop.

Well I’m not surprised Danigrrl39, cos I’m sure he would’ve been IRRESISTIBLE!! One of those “meant to be” moments. Congratulations ❤️☺️

Please remember, Mochi is your #1, make that clear to him! The new baby must earn his way into the flock!

Omg yes! The good thing is my husband adores the both of them too! They are flanking both of us at the couch in the living room, as well as in the dining room. So everyone is included in family activities:)

And quickly weve learned how to do a flying leap onto my chest when I open the cage. Stage 5 clinger alert part 2 LMAO!!!

Awesome! I'd have done the same. We're on a cash only budget at pet stores now!

I'm sorry to be the person that mentions it....but quarantine?

Completely separate cages and just got a clean health cert from avian vet as well. Hand sanitizer before handling them as well:) no shared perches or anything. Not yet, anyways! The birds are bred in house btw:)

LOL...OY...
You are awesome, and yes, you are in so much trouble.
Remember your other babies still feel like #1, so make the new one "prove himself" when in front of them.
YAY/UH-OH? LOL

Congrats! Hans are so cute, ut remember he is a macaw and theefore subject to all the traits common to all macaws. You will now have to become a student of all birdman666 's posts and threads. Good luck!

I hope you did not forget to buy 2 flightharnesses as well :)

(Oh my ... sooo cute!)

This place is amazing, btw and they ship! The birds are amazing. I bonded with a black palm cockatoo, but this guy chose me:)https://thebirdstore.com

I wish all pet shops would host bird talks. There is so much need for basic bird behavior, and reading body language. Let one wizard talks! ;)

They will take the birds out and have park benches set up, so you can spend hours there to find the right friend, or rather make sure youre picked by the right friend. Plus, they offer extensive training clinics as well as on the spot advice. They want you to bring your bird in when you shop, and the cages are all spotless. They have so many flocks, as well as consignment/adoptions. Plus they offer grooming, training, boarding, etc. I was honestly blown away. The babies they have are all sweet. I cannot say enough good things about it.

I love this! Sounds like something that would happen to me if my husband wasn't with me to stop me....

Can't wait to hear more adventures with your new little guy. As for a name...possibly something to match Mochii's name? Loki?

Its scary, because Loki and Rico are two names I was kind of leaning towards!! He's green, but all spanish green names are feminine, hubby nixed the name wasabi. The three of us had coffee this morning. I groomed Mochi, He groomed my head! Lmao! I was also thinking goldie as in goldie hahn!
