Little Miss Lou has stolen our hearts. She is 7 weeks old now, and is almost 100% done with learning how to fly. She flies to my daughter constantly in the mornings when we are getting ready (short distance). She sits on her shoulder while my daughter does her homework, and plays with her pencils.
A friend made Miss Lou a 4 foot tall stand, and she flies to me when called from there (long distance). I need to get a video. She is such an amazing little bird. We are smitten. And we are glad she is so accepting of us. She still has her reservations about the dog, which is fine by me.
I had been giving her a bird mix that had seeds, pellets, fruit, grains, and nuts, and she wasn't really eating much. Just playing with the food. Well, her order of Harrison's arrived today and she CHOWED. This is wonderful because I'd love for her to wean herself. I'm not a big fan of syringe feeding. She begs from our plates during meals too.
I just wanted to give an update. You were all right about her biting being over-excited baby bites. She gets soooooo excited about her wings! Watching her learn to fly is so incredibly rewarding. I'm so glad we can give her a safe space where she can do that. I wanted to thank you all for the advice and guidance. It's all paying off. :smile015:
