looks like a yellow headed amazon, but I'm no expert.

Double yellow headed Amazon :)

Interesting user name.. haha

I'm sorry, and may regret this. But, I have to ask, of all the things to call yourself, why "BirdMolester"?

You are all TOO kind.

I don't know if I would necessarily call that username "interesting"....I think I'd call it rather DISTURBING.

What is up with THAT????

Yes, the bird that was left for your supervision is a Double Yellow Headed Amazon. GORGEOUS birds, HIGHLY intelligent, and he/she needs the utmost respect, love and care. :)

LMAO! The name is hilarious! Come on people! The way we smother our birds with kisses! We're All bird molesters! HAHAHAHA!

Was told to give it this bird food stuff lol idk I gave it some apple slices also, it just sits on my shoulder all day and sings my little sunshine to me talks to me... Kind want one now

Maybe trying with some different fruits and veggies would be a good idea, NO avocado, chocolate, coffee, or anything like that.
Did they give you seed or pellets?
Try buying a good brand of pellets, like Harrison, I feed it to my eccy, although she's not a huge pellet fan. She prefers the meals I cook up for her-
Brown rice with chicken, pasta and mixed veggies.
Mashed sweet potato with pasta and mixed veggies.
Along with some fresh fruits during the day, a couple almonds, dried fruits, yoghurt drops, ect. She also gets one tea spoon of seed every other day. Sometimes she gets a chestnut aswell, but I have to bite it in half first coz it's too big for her to hold and break herself lol.

Another substitute for seeds, I sprout alot of different seed and nuts for her aswell, and she absolutely loved it.
Also some native plants that eccys enjoy in the wild.
My bird is quite spoilt. Haha

Sounds like it's a really sweet bird. Make sure you do a lot of research about them since you say you want one now. If you get one they will probably out live you, think about cage cost, food cost -- pellets, veggies, fruits. Think about vet costs. For how long they live you know just like a human you get sick, they might too. They are also really loud. Will that be okay in your home? What do you like best about the bird? He's friendly and talks? What would you do if you bought a bird and it turned out that it needed lots of training because it bites? Parrots need lots of attention and toys .... just make sure you read up tons before making any decisions because there is a chance that it won't be like the bird you are babysitting! They are very emotional creatures and you can't just toss them aside when you are bored of them or whatever. Good luck with your petsitting, come back with any questions and everyone here will be glad to answer for you.
