I want to buy a Jenday Conure (or two...)

Hello bird lovers!
I started to fall in love with Jenday Conures after seeing a couple at a bird show last month.
I did some research and that seems the right bird for me: friendly and affectionate.
My concerns are: I work 8 hours a day, will the bird feel lonely this time at home? Will it make more sense to buy two so they keep company to each other?
Thank you!

It might make sense to keep 2 conures, but two would mean twice the work, and twice the noise. They might also be more interested in each other then you. If you get two, i would reccomend keeping them in two seprate cages near each other, as some conures can be territorial. If you get one, you could play the radio, t.v or even have a small fish tank near him so he wont be bored.

I agree with the advise given above. My wife and I have a Sun Conure and both of work all day. It's not really a problem. I make sure each morning before I leave for work that I take her out, make a fuss over her, then put her back in her cage. Make sure you have LOTS of toys for your Conure. I switch them out every 2 weeks or so to change things up for her. Then in the evening after dinner it's Tutti's time. She likes sitting on my should while I do the husbandry on all the other cages, run the vacuum, etc... It's "our" time.

I would also agree with just going with one bird if you want the bird to be really be bonded with you.

Good Luck!

I agree.. maybe go with just the 1 Jenday! As long as you provide him with plenty of Toys to keep him occupied while you are not at Home, he should be fine! I also leave the Radio or TV on for Codie:)

I actually have 2 conures of my own
And I work a full time job .
They love their toys and they both love each and every one in my family.
As long as they have food and water and toys thy should be fine.. They also love their alone time it gives them time to learn .

My first bird George was a Jenday. Very loving and affectionate. I worked long hours but he was fine as a single bird in our home.
