Now I know it! I just weighed him, he's 57g. Should I be concerned? He's healthy and active, and doesn't feel skinny. I'm going to keep an eye on it over this week. I'm trying to transition him to pellets, but I also just generally thought he was small for a GCC, especially next to my cockatiel, who is 98g.

Considering that there are different subspecies of green cheek conures
green cheeked

Meaning that they can range from the 50's to the 80 gram range, if he's not underweight, then he's an "average" green cheek... all depending on what subspecies are in his lineage. There's hardly any way to tell, so no need to fret!

Very interesting link! I definitely think he's at least mostly M. australis. All the links I was reading listed their minimum weight range as 60g, so I thought he was on the small side of small.

I saw that, too, Otterkin, but I've also seen a lot of people saying that their green cheeks are under 60 grams in weight, so I feel as if that's average!

Scooter runs about 68 g. Cockatiels SEEM smaller but have more mass.

My tiel doesn't seem smaller, in fact I was surprised when she was only in the average weight range for a tiel. She looks like a large, stocky tiel.
