Riley-white faced grey cockatiel (hatch date 6-28-2014) RIP Halloween-pied cockatiel
For the first 5 days after bringing Speckles home he didn't make a sound I just figured he must be the quietest tiel ever. Saturday I found out I was very wrong. He likes to be loud around 10am which is still odd seeing as how they are supposed to be loudest around sunrise and sunset.

Well good for him! He finally found his voice and soon he will be yelling any time he wants.

Between 10am and 4pm is when he chooses to be loud

Part of bird ownership....they come with their own voice.... :)

Sadly I came home from work tonight and speckles and died. He had to of been sick or something he was completely fine when I left this afternoon.

So sorry color. I would take him to your avian vet to find out what caused his death. As sudden as it was I believe it's important to know, especially if you want to get another bird.

Thinking back on it I believe he was sick before I got him I just took the warning signs as himsstill adjusting. I wrote a much longer post in the bereavement section explaining why I think he was sick. He was far too quite and really didn't move around much the most movement I'd notice was he'd have to cross the cage because I purposely put his food on one side and his water on the other. I'd leave for work and he'd be on one when I got home he was on the other the only time that changed was today I left for work and he was on the cage floor in the corner chirping and when I got home he was in the exact same spot only he was dead.
