2 love birds.
He is called Pityu
She is called Citrus
They are 3years old, she is a little older than him
Today i woke up to my lovebird drinking from an old glass with water near his cage, i forgott to close the door and for some reason he didnt drink from his own water.
The water was all messy and i reacted imidietly and forced him away from the water, but later he started puking up and i got really worried, his face was all covered in seeds so i had to wash him, something i'v never done before and i know he hates water anyway, after the bath he seemed to be in some sort of chock (he really hates water, i think he got some bad memories cause he once fel down in to my aquarium). He didnt have the balance and the swiftness he used to have and he was only barricating himself in in the little wooden house i made to him, where his partner used to do a nest (where she is now is a long story). I tryed to reach a vetrenarian near, but they had either closed or either no open today or tomorrow at all. I live in south sweden and i have to say im very dissapointed about the poor amount of vets here.
So i made my best to support him by cleaning his cage again, putting his favourite stuff into the cage and put some new water and seeds at the bottom. Then i moved the cage to a sunny area (he seemed to enjoy the sun light alot and he purposely stood in the direkt sun light instead inside the wooden house).
Now he is much much better and he is going around the cage and he is stripping papper and he is eating/drinking noramally and again.
He is chirping like normal and he is exited to se me when i am near the cage.

Is there anything i should think about now?
I'v learned my lesson with the water thing though and i recommend to all of you to carefully watch where your bird is eating and drinking from if they are free, water gets bacteriated so quickly...

He is 100% himself today, thank god :)

we all get lazy or forgetful leaving things around. Unfortunately sometimes we learn the hard way. thank goodness your bird is ok. I would still watch him for the next few days, just to be safe. One time I had a 5 week old baby lovebird fly into a measuring cup with hot water. I had been hand feeding them. I fill the syringe with the handfeeding formula, and to keep it warm/hot I keep it in a measuring cup with hot water. well, she flew head first right into it!, I scooped her up, as quickly as I could, she was not herself the rest of the day, but picked up nicely the next morning....whew!, gosh you just never know.
