Seems like Mr Nacho Biiiiiird may have picked up the concept of not biting the human! After only two or three thousand repeats of "no biting" while pushing his beak away from my arm he seems to have lost interest at least temporarily! I had him on me quite a bit yesterday and today and he seemed much more interested in trying to get on top of my head than he did having a bite of me, which is a very welcome change!

Also I'm not sure if he just decided it was a nice thing, or if I just discovered the right move, but he's suddenly taken quite a liking to head scratches. Just a few days ago he seemed to tolerate the head rubs at best but as of yesterday he's started to really like his rubs! So cute when they start getting that sleepy sleepy look while getting their pets =)

And the monkey in him is starting to show as well. I took the playtop tray off his cage a couple days ago to let more light in, and today he was climbing around the top of his cage playing with the stuff on the grate above. I caught a little of him up there on video as well as some of what I'm used to seeing him do. Climbing down head first and taking food from his dish up and over to the other side of the cage to eat it.

Silly bird...

ACK! CLOUDS! This bird is definitely NOT allowed to go up there

Though I have thought about changing his name to Powder because when he fluffs up he looks like a powder puff to me. And he fluffs up fairly often, haha. ;)

His coloring really is gorgeous.

Thats pretty funny about bringing his food over to the other side. Gonna keep him real slim if he continues to eat like that. Whats he do with water??

Water? You mean his toilet bowl?

Haha, just kidding. That's not a usual event. But he sure does have his dining spot picked out!

You never fail to amuse us! . . . Give him a bucket and he will carry it? :D

Little boy blue just keeps getting sweeter by the day =) He hardly bites at all anymore and even if he does he at least knows not to bite HARD. He's up to being trustworthy on my shoulder, but I don't I trust him on anyone else yet.
He's doing great eating his veggies too, since I learned the right way for him. Seems like he has a lot more interest if I dice the stuff up tiny. He has some green beans and sweet potato in the video, but he also does well with serrano peppers, carrots, broccoli and beets, and I'm still trying stuff.

The morning routine has become like this.. put the newspaper on the counter for him, cut the veggies up super tiny and let him nibble at that while I wash his dishes and get his pellet mix and water ready. Chit chat with him for a bit while I make my breakfast and give him a chance to eat his veggies, then move his food and water dishes back to the cage and have my breakfast next to him in his cage. Takes me about two minutes to chop up a tiny bit of veggie for him and he really seems to enjoy it!

And yes, he know he's a cutie! ;)
