Um she woke me up this morning trying to get out of her cage as always! but she is still holding it up. I really can't tell if there is some thing caught on her foot. I don't know how hot or cold it is, it just feels like the other one.

Perhaps if you force her to step up she will have to use that foot and then you can see it.
Lure her with her favorite treat.
Hope it works.

There isn't anything around her ankle and around her leg and knee but I can't tell if there is something where the fathers are on her leg.

sometimes you cannot SEE fibres at all.....I had a gouldian finch here, her nail was turning black....hmmmm seemed odd, she'd been at the nail but I couldn't see anything.
her toe was a bit red, but I didn't like the nail turning black.

took her to the vets, and he pulled off this micro-scopic fibre that had somehow got wrapped around her toe....he had to look at thru a jewellers loop to find it, but could not see it with the naked eye.
how is she today though, are there any changes in the appearance of her toe?

No changes, she is eating now and I might call my normal vet and make an appointment.
