I made the leap - Sunshine is Home!

Sunshine’s previous owner dropped her off today. Along with many tears, she said goodbye and filled me in on all her behaviors that she hadn’t already. She came with a nice big cage in decent condition and she has been a love right from te get-go.

Boy does this bird talk! Non stop! I didn’t know cockatoos talked this much. It’s not only adorable, but makes me very hopeful that I can reprogram her to use speech instead of screaming for flock calls. I did that with my macaw and he maybe screams one time a day, and that’s it. I’m hoping for the best in the screaming department, but prepared for the worst. Haha

I’m sure I’m going to have plenty of questions in the coming weeks, but for now, Sunshine and I are getting to know one another.

Welcome home Beautiful Sunshine! Her voice is absolutely adorable!!
I can't imagine how hard that was for her previous parront, but hopefully it helps that she know what a wonderful home Sunshine has gone to.
I am so looking forward to reading about your journey together.

Hi Sunshine! Simply adorable! I have seen you tube video's of very chatty 'too's and ones of 'too's that don't say squat. Beeb's Uncle DJ's M2 Pookie doesn't say a word,then go watch "Eric the Ledgen" or Dan's Maxwell T Bird.
How old is Sunshine? He looks very comfy with his new surroundings.

She’s 25 and was with one owner for her entire life so I’m very shocked how well adjusted she is. So far hasn’t screamed once, she just yells like a human which is interesting haha. Right now everything is very novel for her though, so we’ll see how that progresses. It’s still very early.

I am just bubbling with excitement!
