I just said I don't need more birds....

My partner renamed her Padma...

what's one more Mikey, really?? you are an old softie and have a way with birds.
congratulations, she is very pretty!!!

I had to call my partner up first before going to pick her up and I said, ummm hon, I did a bad thing today, I'm heading to pick up another bird....lol....To my surprise my partner isn't mad with another tiel, but if it had been a macaw, cockatoo, anything that sort I would of been killed...lol....It's because we have our tiels in flight cages so it can handle another tiel. She is pretty isn't she! She's preening away right now and quite content with me. :D

those big cages can hold plenty of birds can't they? you should keep her, she is pretty, and if you decide to breed her she will give you beautiful babies, and still love you at the same time:p

We're keeping her! One of my boys lost his mate that looks just like her. I think she would make him happy. He kept going after other male's girls and getting into fights so she would be perfect for him. :)

how old is she?

Awwwww she's so pretty!

Congrats on Bella/Padma (:confused::confused:). She is GORGEOUS!!!! Now you know I'm going to ask...what does Padma mean??? :D

the 'tiel is sooo cute :) its very nice of you to train another bird although every bit of training is worth it.

Not everything that shines is gold.
LOVE your bird...
play with your bird...

She's beautiful! I had a male Cockatiel from birth until he passed at 23 years old. I wish the same for Bella!

She's approx 2 years old.

Her new name is Padma, partner prefer that name. The name actually came from the show "Revenge" and Padma was Nolan's girlfriend that was murdered.

Bella is gorgeous!! :D I love her colors- hubs says our next bird should be a tiel!

They're wonderful birds really!!!! You guys should seriously consider them. After having my first one over 16 years ago I fell in love with them ever since.

I couldn't agree with you more!

My first cockatiel was found by my father in law outside his house and after not being claimed by anyone, he called me up.

I'm a sucker and can't ever say "No" so that's how I got "Chaco." He was soo much fun, super smart and a total ham! I don't think I taught him much...he taught ME everthing he knew! And I learned :D

I always said to him..."who ever lost you, must be super sad."

When he passed I was soo sad it took 5 years before I had the urge for another bird. What did I run out and get...a Tiel of course!

In my opinion, tiels have seemed to somewhat decline in popularity and conures are rising to the top. Just since I joined this forum 2 years or so ago...the conure forum averaged about 40ish viewers at all times...now it's over 100 average!

I have both, a gcc conure and 3 tiels. (Just lost our Chicken Little in april) :(

I rescued 2 tiels from the most abusive home I've ever witnessed....with the intention...of course...to rehome them when I got them all tamed down. That was 2 years ago, can't bear to let them go. :yellow1::grey:

I don't know why I'm saying all this...I'm certainly not telling you anything you don't already know :54:

((((stepping off the box now))))

Padma is absolutely beautiful!

Have a great day,

Toni

Nakisha,

Every opinion is important, even when your on the soap box! :D

She was chirping at me this morning while I rushed to get out to get to work late. I haven't been feeling well and it's making me pass out in bed. I felt bad I wasn't able to bring her out this morning. She's a very curious bird! :)

Oh Mikey I've just seen an ad of someone selling two adult cockatiels and they are kept together in a cage no bigger than 30 x 50cm. They can barely scretch their wings out. I feel so bad for them, I just want to buy them to give them a better home!!

Lets face it Mikey, birdie rescue is in your blood! ;):D

Just letting everyone know Padma is doing very well and she's very very friendly! She likes to fly onto our shoulders and perch there and preen our hair....She got a new friend as someone I know that I helped re-homed their parakeet awhile back brought me their pied tiel named Charlie this past Monday cause their dog who have health issues was being pestered by Charlie. So they're afraid of the dog attacking Charlie one day, the dog would hide in the bathroom to get away from Charlie. I told them if they change their mind, Charlie is right here waiting for them. She's been texting me daily asking about Charlie....I told them I could find him a new home to someone that I know that would love to have Charlie, they said no they would prefer him staying with me. So I got suckered in with another bird....lol.....

BUT this got my creative building skill juices flowing....We're gonna ditch the large cumbersome flight cage sometime in the spring to summer. Gonna post it up for sale, the picture in my avitar. I'm going to build something in the size of a 7' tall by 8' long by 4' wide aviary in my bird room and consolidate all my tiels, pair of canaries, and 2 parakeets within. And rid all the cages. I used to have one years ago, IF I still remember how I built it in the first place....lol....It would have plexi-glass on the front and the sides. It would be a full walk in aviary and cleaning it would be a lot more simpler by wiping down everything. Then a double stainless steel cage for my macaws and Dixie lives in Lola's cage. I'm averaging everything to be around $4000 or so. They're breaking the bank....lol

No fair, Michael, we now need a picture of Charlie. ;) Congrats are in order, too!!

And WOW, what big plans you have for next year. That will be SO awesome, and I think SO much less work, too!! :D

JUST for you Wendy!!!!!!! Here's Charlie!!!! :D
