I dropped into the SPCA yesterday to ask about doing some dog walking. They have a toy poodle with three legs. He used to have a family, but the husband died, the wife is handicapped, and they also have a female toy. Too much for the owner...so she gave up the little male. I feel so sorry for him. Ken wanted to bring him home yesterday, but I dragged him out of the building...

lol Sharon....those places are lethal! You go in, you'll want to take something out!

Dave has banned me from several places for this very reason! Even the Pets ads in the newspapers heh! :(

i used to be a dog walker at our SPCA too. it was the least i could do for these poor unforunate souls who have lost their homes. i knew i could not bring any back because i have 4 dogs and my blind one is dog agressive. so i cannot bring any more home at this time.
when i lived in the country a few years back i had 8 dogs and it was easy. i had a fenced in acre and a dogggie door.
so if you are at your limit its a no brainer but if you have room in your heart and home to save this little guy do it. maybe you were sent there by a Higher Power who has a plan................

I can't go in places like that... I probably end up with quite a few of them in my home. Most of my animals are rescued.

I'm still thinking....A dog is a lot to consider in a house with five birds!

I have to do that to myself everytime I walk into an animal rescue or pet store. A little part of me dies when I see those poor things just sitting there waiting for the perfect home and all the love they can get. Of course, they wouldn't be there in the first place if their original owner loved them or did their research before buying them :(

I can't wait to get my own home. Most of the pets I want, I'll get them from rescues.

i have 4 dogs and they are fine with my birds. not saying all dogs are but its certainly doable. if mine even gets a look in his eye that he is thinking about it he is immediately corrected. dogs can't hide their emotions, its all over their face :)
