Yesterday, I ran some errands and stopped at Subway to grab a sandwich before starting my shift. I pull up and park next to a car, passenger window is down on the car. I'm in south Texas, it's a sunny, muggy, warm day so I have my windows up and AC on full blast. But there was that moment where you are so focused on what you are doing you don't register things right away so I didn't process the snake hanging out of the car window until I was completely out of my car with about 2 feet between me and the snake. For those that have read my posts, I have an irrational fear of snakes, see I admit it. There was a young woman holding the snake, I noticed her after I turned into a pancake against my car then the flash and was on the sidewalk in the fraction of a second. I looked at the woman, who was trying not to laugh (very kind) and I told her she was a brave woman. I DID something I would not have done before, I TOUCHED THE SNAKE after asking permission and I did it, followed by the ebbie jeebie dance. I did this because I have seen people react to my parrots in absolute fear and I think what is wrong with you, so I took the opportunity.

So between the time I registered the snake to the walk, it was pretty much like this guy:

OMG, that video required me to wear diapers before opening it. BAHAHAHAHAH!!! Hilarious!!!!

Many, maaany, MAAANY congrats on overcoming your fear and touching that snake yesterday!!! WOW! That is so awesome! How did you feel afterwards? Were you surprised by how smooth they feel? :D

LOL Good for you for trying. Snakes don't bother me at all..now spiders are a whole different story!

So glad you decided to take that first step of overcoming your fear! What did you think of how the snake felt?

See? Now for me it's snakes, spiders AND crickets. Any one of those have me doing the creepy crawly dance :) Good for you for facing your fear!

This is pretty much my reaction to snakes, larger spiders or crickets

At the pet shop I help the staff catch crickets when I go and they like only have a few left :) The lizard Jackie has to eat. If Jackie were a fid that would be a good you know your a parront when you crack crickets for dinner. Lol.
Good job standing up to your fear.

Good for you Tracey! :D Thinking about it now, is it as bad as your initial reaction was? Snakes, no problem here, unless they're poisonous, or constrictor types large enough to eat a human . btw, the vid was hysterical!!

My fear I 'tried' to overcome was last summer when I had no choice but to clean the fly maggots out of the outdoor trash can !!

I'm with you on the snake fear... They make me ill.

LOL Good for you for trying. Snakes don't bother me at all..now spiders are a whole different story!

I have no fear of spiders or snakes, but a flying roach? I'll scream like a girl. The cockroaches here in Texas are HUGE and they FLY! My worst nightmare.

LMAO!! That video!! [emoji23][emoji23] that's me when there are bugs around lol I'm ok with snakes and lizards, but anything creepy crawly I'll scream like a little girl while doing the heebie jeebie dance AND running away swatting everything LOL

I used to work with a lady who is scared of birds, so I imagine she'll never want to stop by my house next time she's in the state....she used to comment things like "ew!!" when I would post a picture of chili and I snuggling

OMG! Got to love it! Houston has had so much rain, plus San Antonio ( how is Mark, Birdman doing?), Arlington, Dallas area, I'm on vigilant snake watch, poisonous visitors that is. Flying roaches? They better fly low, I'm gonna get them. Spiders, bye bye. I have no issues with them. Geicos???? OK, issue. I had a 5" geico living in my garage. We had a talk 1-2 times a week. Me, "Keep killing bugs, you can stay but stay over there, you can't come in the house." His reply, he just looked at me, lol. How can anyone refuse or show distaste of parrot cuddles?

LOL at the video, you could almost hear the WTF spitting from the reporter's mouth near the end!

Snakes, spiders, and heights round out my list of phobias! Not too many snakes where I live, but plenty of Black Widow Spiders!
