I'm so happy guys! I had to share this with you... :)

The excruciating wait is over! My beautifull Alice is coming home this afternoon!

This has got to be one of the best day of my life! :54: I barely slept... LOL!

I'm very excited and worried at the same time cause I want her arrival to go smooth and well for the both of us...

Any advices are welcomed!

Kind regards,

Audray

How exciting! Are you picking Alice up from somewhere local or was she shipped?

I would have her cage set up (of course) and right before you leave to go get her, put in fresh food and water. Even a 15 minute drive across town can wear a bird out, so you'll want for her to have the option to get a drink and eat right away. Also have the cage half-covered so she doesn't feel so frightened or exposed in a totally new environment. Expect her to be a bit fearful, don't expect much, if any interaction to speak of and probably an early bedtime for her tonight. Very few birds get to a totally new home and settle themselves right in. Most take a few days at least to start feeling comfortable in their new environment and want to start playing and exploring. It would be nice to talk to her though if she seems to be up to it. Never hurts to talk to any bird in a calm, soothing voice and offer treats to reinforce you are only there to love and care for them. You will probably have a better idea tomorrow of how she's settling in and how to move from there. Congrats on the new baby girl! In a couple of days, once she's had some time to settle in of course, we wouldn't mind some pictures of her in your home :D

Edit: I did look at your album of Alice, and she looks like she's got a little bit of a plucking thing going on. I would definitely have some shredding toys waiting in her new cage so she has that option of a positive thing to chew on right away. Get her into good habits right off the bat in your home, and keep her nice and occupied from day one:) I'm betting she is going to be so happy with you, she is a very pretty girl and you can see in her eyes she's real inquisitive and probably loves playing.

I'm getting Alice from the petshop where she was rehomed since about 10 months... It's about 45 minutes drive from my home...

Covering a little bit the cage is a great suggestion!:)

You can see Alice picture (she's 9 years old) in my avatar but I will come back with more for sure!

I am so excited for you! I can't wait to hear how she settles in:)

Hi everyone!

It's been a week now that my baby Alice is with us and we couldn't be happier!

Her arrival went very well and it took about 2 hours for her to start feeling confortable in her cage and playing with her toys.

Since then, it has been a roller coaster of cuteness and mischieveness! Lol!

She talks a lot, sings and dance!:D

I will try to post pictures and videos for you but I'm having a hard time doing it on this forum...

Good for Alice! I'm glad she's settling into her new home:) and I hope you manage to get some pictures up later! I would love to see Alice. I think I must've missed where you had said her species. Is she a sulfur crested?
