i think this is going off topic, the question was about hyacinth macaws, there are plenty of other threads about wing clipping which this can be discussed over, and also, hyacinths are just like any large macaw with the amount of space they need..

Back on topic, i love hyacinths. incredibly beautiful birds! Unfortunately living in Australia i would never be able to afford one... good luck :)

As far as credentials, I have none, other than my current experience and what my breeder taught me (you're new, you don't know she was my neighbor and I was there learning from her over time). I have had birds in the past as well many years ago. As far as wing clipping goes, to me its personal preference, my breeder feels the same way. My real objection is your "opinion" on necessary room the bird requires on flight area and how expensive feeding is as well. When it comes to the larger breeds, I don't think any of them are "cheap" to feed properly. As far as needing proper space to fly, I've never seen that as a "requirement" to have a large macaw either. True, everyone has their own opinion and is entitled to it, but in your response to necessary flight space I have never read, heard, seen a response with quite that magnitude before until now. Considering you just now joined and haven't really established yourself here with anyone I consider that a rather brazen response to someone seeking advice here. I apologize for my bluntness but that's just how I am.
