My now 14 week old baby is eating non stop. I give him the Ekkie Blend Pellets from Pretty Bird and fresh fruits and veggies along with one feeding at night and he still eats almost non stop. Should I worry he is eating to much or is it a growing baby appetite ?

Wow this question is completely opposite of what we usually get. "My baby is not eating" kind of thing. Birds usually stop eating when their crop is full. If you are concerned about too much food I would portion the food out instead of all at one time.
Have you had him to an avain vet yet? Very important to get a wellness exam with a baby or new bird. Make a list of your questions for the vet to address. Good luck and let us know how things are going.

Your on the right track to what is known as abundance weaning, the more solid food your baby takes in, the sooner they will be less interested in that last nightime formula feeding, it sounds as though your pretty close, but your baby will let you know when its time by refusing the formula. as SB said, we usually get the question of, help my baby is not weaning off the formula, or that it won't eat solid foods, at this time I wouldn't worry about him eating to much :)

I have a question for you guys about babies, formula, weaning, and so on. My Maui (9wk CAG) has been eating so strangely lately, for example, in the morning, he may only take about 10-15 ccs of formula, and maybe the same at lunch feeding, but then want to eat like almost 80 at dinner!!!! or he may do the 80 at lunch but 10-15 at dinner. I've been giving him SOME pellets and have been offering him tid bits of a variety of veggies throughout the day, which he SO SO SO loves and eats just fine. I do give him a few sunflower seeds here and there, nuts and such, but not much and not all the time.

Any suggestions as to why he may be cutting his feedings down once or twice a day lately?

UPDATE in general - I know, I know I need to get some recent photo's of him up here, especially since he is now FULLY feathered!!! He is SO smart, as I've already taught him to step up, he perches like a champ and is climbing all over his cage now, flapping, flapping, flapping, I'm surprised he hasn't offered to take off yet. He will, however, when he's climbing up on the cushions on the back of the couch, use his wings to keep him up while he climbs instead of using his beak and feet. If I walk out of the room and he's not totally enthralled in playing, so realizes it, he starts calling for me, which I think is so cute, I just say "Maui, Mommy's in the kitchen, I'll be right back, baby", and if he continues to call, I just simply call back by saying "Mauiiiiii" Another things he's started to do, is associate certain things, like, I'll ask him if he wants to go outside (lanai) and if he DOES want to, he walks up to me, gets right in my face and starts doing these little squeaking whistle type noises, so then I'll step him up and as we're walking outside, tell him the entire time, "Here we go, we're going outside" and "Here we are, YAY, we're outside Maui". AMAZING what he's learned to understand in human language ALREADY!!! Of COURSE, I'm biast, but, I do believe that I've got one smart cookie on my hands, he's such a pleasure, I'm having so much fun with him, even though it IS MUCH more work than I had anticipated, I'm loving EVERY minute of teaching him and spending time with him.

Thanks for letting me babble about my baby, guys, seems it's the only place I can do it that TOTALLY understands my undying love for this parrot!! LOL
