Well figured I may as well join this fancy here forum since I finally was able to bring home my girl today. I had put a deposit down on her at a family owned pet store in VA and have been waiting for her to finally finish being hand-fed. Today was that day.
She's a sweet little sun conure who we've named Nimbus (Nim for short) She's spunky too, but very affectionate. She is my first bird, but I've done all my necessary research and I'm ready for her =)
Now about myself. I'm Emily, just a simple 19 year old girl (Soon to be 20 in October) And due to be married next summer. I'm pretty sure I've got my life figured out which is more than what I can say for most people my age. I work in a photo studio taking pictures and doing sales etc.
I also own a horse and am an avid horseback rider. I prefer no specific discipline, but if I had to choose I love to jump, and I love to rein. (I do both bareback, my saddle has been broken for a while now haha)
I teach lessons to children 5+ on horseback as well.
Well, I think that about covers it, and oh yeah I like to draw aswell but thats not super important.
Either way, its nice to meet you all! Please bear with me as I may have some VERY newbish questions that I'd rather have answered from seasoned bird owners than self-proclaimed bird experts.
