How to setup breeding box for our caiques.

Dear all,
Recently my wife and I bring in a male caique for our female for breeding.
May I know how to set up the breeding box? We need to help them for the bedding inside the box?
We had successes breeding from our lovebirds unintentionally. This time will need to breed our caiques.

I'm certainly no expert, but IMHO both cages are really small to be set up as breeding cages.

And I don't know of any birds that use a nestbox that's placed on the bottom of the cage.

That is my love birds breeding box. Which was the old one and they had successful hatched total 16 babies. I had changed a bigger cage for them and new breeding box too.

This is the cage I have my two breeder conures in.

No divider in, and I had gotten a second to put on top for my cockatiel. The sides both have doors made for breeder boxes, though mine is off for a little bit while they'e getting used to the cage. I'm also going to be getting a bigger breeder box that's L-shaped instead of the plain square one they have now.

The biggest thing for me is not only the size of the cage for the caiques, but the lack of a grate on the bottom. If you're intending for them to breed (which could take a while) you don't want to take the risk of them carrying icky stuff up into the nestbox with them.

Caiques are notoriously difficult to breed (advice coming from my breeder as well as a few others.)

Definitely too small of a cage for one caique, let alone two. Hope you get them set up well soon.

I'm not sure about the cage size yet. They looks comfortable. In and out of their breeding box regular now. They are explorers. Playful. Like to check out new things around them.
