When I got Shadow, she loved the toys I made. I use food dye to dye wooden parts then cotton rope to string them up. I was hanging them from the top of her cage and it didn't seem to make her feel afraid (the books I've read say that things that approach from the top might resemble a threat because they are prey in the wild). She doesn't play with toys I purchase any more either. Is it possible that it's related to some kind of breeding cycle? She doesn't seem unhappy in any way and she doesn't scream or pluck but I just want to make sure she is happy. Is there another way I should be positioning them? She will pull wood pieces from the foraging basket I give her when I'm out of the house and she will still take wood from my hand and happily shred it.

If only she knew how much I fret when she's probably fine!!

You would be surprised they just want a new texture , Add balled up news paper, cardboard boxes ,tie together straws ,leather ,cut up strips of jeans ,use grapevine different types of wood.

awesome, thanks :) I just spent some money on some vine balls and rings, maybe if I switch it up she will play once again. she was chewing on a thick cotton rope I had attached wooden parts to, so I am going to reuse that one until she shreds it.

Show her how!! Sounds silly, but sometimes as smart as they are, they can't see something is fun until it's seen being used!! Show lots of enthusiasm and get her involved!!
