As some of you know, I got a Timenh african grey about 2 weeks ago. I named her charlie and its only 5 months old. I am 13 and I have been handling large parrots since age 9. I always have time for my birds and such. My mom said that while im at school she wont be handling my bird I'm fine with that because I dont do many after school activities and i wake up early so i will have about 5-6 hours to play with my birds. Charlie doesnt mind being in his cage and doesnt mind being out. He is very easy going and doesnt hold a grudge. The problem is charlie seems to like to cuddle and play with my mom wore because she looks like the lady at the bird shop that he was bonded with. He doesnt attack anyone and is very social but prefers her over me. And the problem is i want to make a big bond with him. He likes to snuggle with her and such but he also will bite her more then he does to me. But I reallly want to and need to create a bond with him because when im older and move out he is coming with me so he wont have my mom. I know that isnt until a long time but stil I want to create a stronger and better bond. All my pets love my mom the most which i dont understand. I always talk to him, feed him, Clean his cage, and buy him new toys and i just started clicker training him 2 days ago. I do everything with him and I love him but he definetly likes my mom more. How can I create a better bond with him. Boo(green cheeked conure) was easy to bond with because he loves me and my mom equal but she plays with him more because she is more comfortable with him then Charlie.
