I'm interested in how you simply cleaned your cages. Thorough, because in this cage where he was staying, I have to put a new bird, a Blue Fronted Amazon, who will hang out with a few parrots that are currently tested and healthy.

So I am only interested in how to disinfect a large cage in which a sick, infected bird was staying?

A few ways.
  • Steam, which I use. Shark, Bissel, and others make steam cleaners with hand held wands. Time consuming. These can be rented at some DYI big box stores.
  • Sunlight. Leaving the cage outdoors in bright sunlight for several days, after a good solid wash down.
  • Bleach. A strong mix of water & bleach followed by a solid all water rinse.
  • Commercial disinfectants - but these must be totally rinsed off after.

A power washer is a great tool for the rinse off, it gets into all the little nooks and crannies where residual cleaner and dirt may be hiding.

F10SC Spray that on after a good washing with Dawn (original)

ohh, I don't have an F10 in Bosnia, getting it is a problem

I also received recommendations for hydrogen peroxide
