Dar, our Hawkhead, is 17. Dexter, our Yellow Crowned amazon, is 14. Slater, our orange winged Amazon, is 7, and Talli our Pionus, is the baby at 18 months. Our lovebirds and 1 budgie were rescues so I have no idea. Peewee & Sproutlet, our parrotlets are under a year, as are 3 of our budgies.

My Lilac Crowned Amazon is now 40 years old.

A friend of mine has her Grandmother's DYH amazon.

Grandma got the bird when she was 12 years old! (She had the bird for 56 years. My friend's mother inherited it when she died.) Mom had the bird for 19 years, and passed it on to her daughter 18 years ago...

That particular bird is 93 years old!!! It's the oldest one I've ever personally been around.

That bird is treated like a family heirloom...

I hope mine will be too, someday...
