When you acquire a young handfed ringneck, how often and for how long each day should you handle it during the first year to keep it tame?

Constantly. As much as possible, just like with any living being that you bring into your life who depends on you for all social interaction . You have to teach them manners, communication, boundaries, games, etc. that’s a lot of time together.
