This morning she wasn't interested in her yogurt and banana, I've let her graze on seeds and pellets throughout the afternoon. I'm feeding her red quinoa, broccoli and carrots for dinner but how much should I be giving her at meal time? Is it possible to overfeed fresh veggies? Or will she naturally refuse it when she's full? She's eating well which is great. She loves her fresh veggies!!

I think it depends on the bird, but generally most birds just eat what they feel hungry enough for. Sometimes you do get birds that like to over indulge, so weighing your bird is important to make sure they aren't turning into little piggies. By the sound of it though, you've got it pretty much down with what you are feeding her. I think most birds don't really go into a food coma over veggies so much as they would over their favorite treat (like really sweet foods, lots of particular types of seed, etc), so my guess is your CAG will just stop eating when she's not hungry anymore.

You could always try eyeing the amount she eats to gauge how much she actually consumes. Start off with a particular amount, and if she doesn't finish it after it's been offered for awhile, you can lessen the amount. Eventually you can lessen it to the point where she gets her fill and you have little to no waste. But that's a very conservative approach :) Otherwise... let the veggie carnage commense!

I have to admit I have been giving her way too many almonds today. I want her to like me darn it! not every day will be like her first day here with me though. She goes crazy for them
