- Pixie - Hahn's Macaw
Having read that chillis are good for parrots, I've been trying to feed my Hahn's, Pixie, a chilli a day (we have chilli plants).
However, I hate chillis! Pixie smells of chilli forever - she's learned to eat standing over her food bowl, which collects chilli bits which she keeps eating all day. Which I know is good for her.
But then she somehow transfers miniscule bits of chilli to my hands when I'm playing with her ("I'm just gonna rub my nose now - owww!") or kisses me with horrible chilli breath. To make things worse, Pixie doesn't like the less-spicy peppers!
I've tried to encourage her to have some water before playing with me, or even bits of lemon, but it doesn't help.
Does anyone have any advice for a chilli-hating parront?
