How do I know if am over feeding my birds

I’ve currently been giving each budgie 1 tablespoon of seed and one tablespoon of chop daily
(Waiting on pellets arriving)

I know this might not be the right section but I’ll add it in I’ve been giving each one of my kakarikis the same 1 tablespoon of seed and 1 of tablespoon of chop
Also waiting on pellets I bought harrasions high potency

Am I under/over feeding both budgies and kakarikis have food let over next morning from previous morning

How do I know if am over feeding my birds?​

They get fat. Weigh with a gram capable kitchen scale. Keep daily log, +/- more then 2-5%, something is amiss.
