So I ordered some more Roudybush for my conures and Tiki last week. Even though since we've moved in with my in law's, Tiki is in a foster home, I am still going to make sure he is well stocked with at least his pellets. His foster mom makes her own birds chop, so he's getting that, but they are on a different type of pellet.

Anyway, I'm down to my last canister of pellets here, so I opened the box and the bag is blue. Roudybush does not come in a blue bag. Instead, they sent me a 20lb bag of Pretty Bird. I called Foster and Smith, who I ordered from and they were very nice. They are going to send out the bag of Roudybush right away and told me to just keep the Pretty Bird.

I figure I'm gong to give the last canister of Roudybush to Tiki for now and let my green cheeks eat the fruit loops...I mean Pretty Bird since I can't give Tiki a colored pellet. So I'm just wondering how Pretty Bird is as a pellet. I've hard that they aren't that bad for a colored pellet, but I have no personal experience with it and you guys are the next best thing.

You had me at artificial colours and flavours! I personally wouldn't use it. You can make as good of a meal by cooking up some grains, seeds, and pulses, then dump some Nekton-S on it. If you wanted, you could raise mealworms for your parrotlets, then feed the Pretty Bird pellets to the worms.

Yaaa, aside from the coloring, what you want to look at is what its made-up of on the side panel. Remember to keep the coloration in mind when you are viewing the pooo. I have never used it, so beyond that I have no additional comments.

From what I found

Ground Corn, Ground Wheat, Ground Oat Groats, Corn Gluten Meal, Potato Protein,
Coconut Oil, Soya Oil, Safflower Oil, Calcium Carbonate, Dicalcuim Phosphate, L-Lysine, Monohydrochloride, Choline Chloride, Natural and Artificial Flavors, DL-Methionine, Vitamin E Supplement, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Ferric Sulfate, D-Biotin, Yucca Schidigera Extract, Zinc Oxide, Manganese Oxide, Niacinamide, Vitamin B12 Supplement, BHT (as a preservative), Copper Sulfate, Calcium Iodate, Beta-Carotene, Vitamin A Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, Sodium Selenite, Folic Acid, Riboflavin, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamine Mononitrate, Natural and Artificial Colors, Menadione Dimethylpyrimidinol Bisulfite Complex (source of Vitamin K3), Vitamin D3 Supplement, Cobalt Sulfate.

The only thing in this food is just filler. Ground Corn, Ground Wheat, Ground Oat Groats, Corn Gluten Meal, and Potato Protein. Corn Gluten? That just sounds bad. The food sounds like junk. The 2 first ingredients are the main ones that matter they make up most of what is in the food. With all pet food look at the first 2 ingredients. Sounds like it is just Chicken food. It makes me so mad how parrot food has become just cheap junk. I do not think it was always this way. Corn should not be the number one ingredient in parrot food.
