Pros and cons of housing birds together? I mean i don't really need another bird though it seems i am developing hoarding issues... XD Anyway i was kinda toying with the idea of getting a teil but would only really consider it if one would get on ok living with Barry. Barry was living with ringnecks and moustache X ringnecks (there were at least 4 others in with him) before i brought him in a smallish petshop cage. He is now in what i would consider a generous size cage for a bird his size although i simply wouldn't put him in anything smaller. What do you think the chances are of him living happily with another small bird? Or is it simply not even worth thinking about?

That large of a bird could end the tiels life in a few seconds. Housing birds together, even if they came from the same clutch, isn't recommended. If you can't provide an individual setup for tiel, then I wouldn't do it.

Huh? Barrabands wouldn't be much if any bigger than a teil...

I have 2 male Barrabands from the same clutch and had to separate them. When I let them out together with my plumhead, they will pester him and each other. I am thinking they are too active to be housed with another species...they just don't know when to stop sometimes so require supervision. Wonderful birds though...talk and sound off non-stop. My Ekkie is in another room and can get noisy if he hears too much of their chatter.
