It was interesting to say the least. Milo is now in his new, forever home. We spent about 1 hour visiting. & then began loading up his cage, tree stand, etc.
Milo looks a little under weight to me, but I'm not 100% sure.
Also found out that his owner had run out of parrot food "about a month ago" and has been giving him peanuts, dried oatmeal, frozen burritos. Mainly peanuts as his food.
He also hasn't has a bath in over a year, maybe two.
His feathers are very chewed as well.
He was also being left alone, in a home with no heat and no one to check on him for 2-5 days at a time.

I will take & post pics shortly. :)

poor milo, i am so glad you have him!

no excuse for no parrot food for over a month grrr

and can't wait for pics

I'm very glad you got him out of that situation. Geez, that stuff is hard to hear.

Poor Milo! I'm so happy you have him now!

So glad you have him now. I hate when people neglect their animals, I would go without before my pets would. Can't wait to see pics :)

wow the way some people treat their animals is crazy! I agree with the previous poster there is no excuse for lack of food for that long and no heat or company for days at a time? I am surprised he made it. Glad he has you all now :)

I have gone without for the sake of my pets. After my marriage to an idiot who spent every cent I had (and didn't have via my credit cards), I didn't have much in the way of food for myself, but none of my critters went without while I got bills caught up. I think I lived off toast for at least a month.

Good for milo having you now, congrat !!

Reading how he was being cared for just made me throw up a bit & brought tears to my eyes. I feel guilty leaving my OWA in his cage for an hour to go grocery shopping! Heartless bastard!!!!! Thank God you came along.

Thats horrible :( given what you described he probably is underweight and it would not be his fault. I am glad to hear he is in a better place now and will be taken care of properly

Thank you for helping this baby out! I often wonder how owners of mistreated animals would do if treated the way they treat the animals. I'd love to see that!

Well, once when I voiced how I didn't understand how people could treat their animals like this, someone pointed out to me that many people treat their own children horribly. And it's true. Babies are left in garbage cans, and many children are abused and neglected. There is just something missing in some people.
