Holly got injured

Last night Holly was hanging upside down holding onto her perch & the perch gave way & she has a fractured Tibiotarsal, surgery is schedule for this afternoon to insert a pin.

I feel guilty because I always check the perches to make sure they are secure, but I've been working alot the last week & neglected to check them, she is in good spirits when she is awake, they gave her pain meds so she is sleeping alot.

he's been sitting at the divider calling for her, she will be home tomorrow, but she needs to stay in her travel cage, they want to minimize her movements for a few days.

BTW, its over 3,000 dollars to get her fixed up.

Oh no, sorry Holly needs surgery. Hope the surgery goes well an her recovery is effective.

I've had 2 parrots break legs over the last 20 years; Angel and more recently ET. Both had surgically pinned legs, with full recoveries. It is amazing what avian medicine can do!!
