Hole in budgie's beak

White-faced 'tiel (Cookie). Pied Budgie (Pepper).
So recently I added a new bird into the flock. His name's Pepper. I raised him for a friend but they couldn't keep him so I had to bring him back.
Today I noticed that he seem to had a hole in his beak. He didn't seem to be in any pain and was his usual self. Though he was a little bit more sleepy and a bit less vocal. He was still eating fine and there wasn't any bleeding when I first noticed the wound. There was some bleeding a few hours later so I put some cornstarch on his beak and he seems fine.
Here are some pictures from when I first noticed the wound;

The area around the wound is a bit darker now and his beak is also darker on the other side as well. I'm not sure what to do so any help would be appreciated

That doesn't look normal to me. Could another bird have bitten him? If he was attacked by something, he may need an antibiotic, but it's hard to say without a vet's input.

It could also be something else entirely- I'm just speculating. I hope others chime in.

Yikes! I haven't felt with this so I don't hwve advice. A vet visit is best bet.
Keep us updated! Maybe someone will have experience and step in.

Ugh so many typo...
I can Google, but probably you can just as easily?

Diluted betadine to a light tea color is my go to for any wounds. I dab edges with it.
Can he eat and drink ok?

Likely, another Parrot caused the break! Or, caught in a swing style cage door. Either way, if a crack develops it could result in the loss of the upper bill. If that occurs, the budgie will need to be hand feed for months as the bill slowly grows back.

Separate this budgie from your other birds!

That really does look like a parrot beak shaped bite doesn't it?

Yes he's able to eat and drink fine.

He needs a vet.

What do you mean there are none near you?

I live in an island nation and the only vet clinic (where there are no CAVs) is in the capital city. And given the current situation, going there is not much of an option for me.
