Hi I'm Ariana and I'm new to parrot forums. I'm 14 years old but don't let my young age fool you, I have lots of knowledge about parrots, I know the commitment, money, space and time it requires to flourish with these amazing birds. I'm a proud owner of a very beautiful cherry headed conure named Opal. Although a while back she was never so kind, I adopted her from a owner who just didn't have the time or knowledge to care for her, he would neglect her for long periods of time with no contact what so ever! Opal was also on a very unhealthy petstore seed diet but was very quickly yet immediately changed once a received her, she is now on a healthy organic pellet. Also when Opal was deliverd to my door step, he gave me everything he had for her, and I didn't see one toy, not one! Obviously as soon as a seen this I basically forced my grandma to drive me to the store, and I picked up a couple shredding toys and a few foraging toys aswell. I also relized how small her cage was, it was 18"x18x18" and for a large conure of her size it was awful, the paint was chipping, it was rusting in the corners and it was also bent! Opal now lives in a power coated stainless steel 27"x36"x40" cage all to herself! She's offered different toys through the months, and her feathers have grown back beautifully (she was a plucker) and she loves me more then any living thing could! So I'm here to tell you that ANY one even a five year old can be as smart and knowledgable as a professional avian trainer! So please don't look at me as a young kid that dosnt know anything, I would like to be seen as someone your able to gather the right information from and a young avian trainer. I have dedicated my life to my birds, I am now online schooled so that I'm able to spend everyday with my parrots, why you ask? Well because, when I took on the roll of a "parront" i also signed up for a life responability too!
