My girlfriend and I acquired "Baby" from her parents.. she is roughly 20yrs old.. GF's parents have had her since she was a almost a baby and they got her from their uncle who got her from a private breeder.. we have had here in our house for roughly 3 months now. anyhow she is lots of fun frustrating at times but we like having her around..
here is a picture of her and her perch.. she has no cage she is always free perched.

NO cage????!!!! WOOOW!!! Impressive !!!!
yes she has never been caged always on that same perch.. they had a kind of chair rail around it up north with a blanket so you didnt see the newspapers.. we didnt do that so now we're looking doing something besides paper.. just a little nervous after reading all the horror stories about cob and chips and cat litter.. we're heading off to the store to get different food and a calcium block for her after her 1st ever Vet visit sat.

HOLY MOLY!! Her first EVER vet visit? That is crazy! But she must have been VERY well taken care of, because she looks awesome and obviously has never been ill. That's just awesome! She's a beauty and congrats on such a beautiful inheritance!!!

She's a beauty! My wife and I have a six year old B&G that we bought as a baby and hand fed. I had to smile when you mentioned that "she's a lot of fun and frustrating at times but you like having her around." That pretty much sums up our girl as well! She's a doll but she can be a Diva!

Tica spends most of the day on a manzanita stand but she spends the night in her cage. I fear that if we left her home unsupervised, she might spot the kitchen cabinets one day and turn the doors into toothpicks!

Hi and welcome to the forum, please enjoy your stay :)

I am always amazed when I see parrots that have been uncaged their whole lives! What is the secret? I would NEVER be able to leave my guys out home alone... they would eat my cats for sure! Or as Birdzhaven said previously... my goffin's would DEFINITELY turn my cabinets into toothpicks.

I have no idea what the secret is.. she only flies when she's startled.. used to climb down off the perch then i wrapped that part in cardboard so she cant..
Vet said she needed calcium and Vitiman A. we picked up a couple cuddle bones last night and got some fruity mix Zupreem pellet food she took to the pellets right away the cuddle bone she's not to fond of. so we gotta feed her milk or something.. and we figured out what to use for littler under her perch.. Wild bird seed !
it looks good and it holds the solid on top easy to scoop off. we'll see how it works out for smell and such but it was cheap and looks good.. plus if she gets to it to eat it. it's just bird seed

Well I'd be careful of her eating it since she may also pick up some of her own feces in it. But she really is gorgeous, and good for you for taking her to the vet and having her thoroughly checked out. :) Welcome to the forums, the people here are awesome and so knowledgeable!!!
