Hi, new here

I have 2 greys and a senegal and most of my neighbors don't even know I own birds. Strange that, since I can hear Kito's contact call from several houses away.

And the Senegal way louder than the grey!

Loudest birds I ever had were a pair of oranged winged amazons

That is interesting. At the rescue shelter I volunteer at the African Greys are the quietest, then the amazons. The cockatoos are the loudest, by far. The macaws are pretty loud, but I can take the screams better than the cockatoos.

I just adopted a macaw about two weeks ago and I guess he is starting to feel at home. He has been extremely friendly and very quiet. Yesterday, he decided he was a cockatoo and gave this killer scream. It was like he went into a trance and took on a different personality. I left the room, waited until he quieted down and then came back. It took about three tries until he snapped back to the bird that I know. ;)

I live in a semi and my neighbors can hear my birds but they've never complained. When the neighbor asked me if I had birds I was a bit worried but I said yes and asked if they were bothering him. He said "oh no! I was just wondering" now he asks how they are when he sees me in the driveway. I find most people are more curious than anything else :)

Congrats on getting your baby back! Sounds like if he wasn't well cared for when your ex had him he was only keeping booger to hurt you. Awful
