Hello! I'm a new sun Conure owner, her name is Molly. She is amazing! We've had her for 3 weeks now and she is around 4 months old. She is doing well and I've even been able to potty train her to go in the kitchen sink. She does have accidents from time to time and likes to go on the counter top too lol. Maybe it feels like the sink or something. Molly does not usually go potty on us when we're holding her which I believe as a huge win and she came to us like that. We're trying to get her to bond with me because I'm the one who's always home. I'm not sure she is bonded to me though...She is very excited when I come home and holds my hoodie and flaps her wings on me but does the same thing for my fiance when he's been gone. We leave her 2 nights a week at home with my son's babysitter and my son and when's we get home she acts excited but then kind of angry afterwards. It's kind of weird! I'm sure I will be asking lots and lots of questions in the future but for now I just wanted to say hi!:orange:

Welcome to the forums, Molly! Sun Conures are beautiful and wonderful companions.

Birds frequently choose their favorite people, but this does not mean she will reject you. She is young enough to be impressionable and respond well to your efforts. No doubt our Conure members will give you more complete advice!

She is and she smells like popcorn. Do all birds smell like popcorn?

Hello and a warm welcome to you and Molly. Parrots have a unique smell, popcorn is a good description. We'd love to see photos of your beautiful girl.

Welcome! Lots of bird-lovers here to help you out. While you're having a look around, you can take any issue or topic which interests you, use the Search Tab and then read about it. It's a really good engine.
The Rickeybird smells like chocolate bar wrappers... not the chocolate, the wrappers.
There was a coolio thread a while back about parrot aromas...
Come to think of it, there *IS* a bit of popcorn in his fragrance!
