hi to all,
I purchased my alexandrine 3 weeks ago from our local markets. The sellers said he was around 7 weeks but im sure hes older. Just off the spoon and eating on his own. I handled him on the day in the cage and he was really friendly. Since being home he is quite nervous, calls out when i come near his cage and seems to want to come out. Steps up good but is weary when i try to pet him. He calls out continually while i have him out (that feed me shrill)He has lached on to my finger a couple of times and i tell him calmly NO!. How long do you think it will take for the noisy baby call to stop when i am handling him? He is quiet throughout the day and starts his screaming when we go to let him out. Ive read that they should be out of their cages for a few hours per day. If i sit him on a perch on the outside of the cage and turn around he jumps off to follow me but cant fly with wings trimmed. Should i wait a while before i let him out or will he learn to stay put and play on the cage? I would apreciate any advice.
thanks
