Hahn's Macaw
I introduced myself earlier but just found how to upload a photo. I am mom to a little Hahns girl. Never though such a little bird could pack such personality in such a small package. Hahnna, is my joy andhas helped heal my heart she is twelve weeks ans I am handfeeding her three times a day but she is doing very well eating on her own. I am allowing her to wean herself rather then force wean. She is already talking, saying and understnding step up and she is trying to say other things although we do not quite understand her yet. She is also potty trained. We hold her over the toilet when she comes out of her cage and tell her potty and she goes right away. And does nothing again until you bring her back to the toilet. I would like to ask others who are owned by a Hahns, what their bird's adult weight is? Hahnna at 12 weeks is currently 125 grams, she is not losing weight but has not put any on. I am told that is fine as long as she is holding her weight. Is 125 a good weight for a 12 week old? Thanks. Elaine and Hahnna.

Elaine, I think the average weight for a Hahns is between 130-150g. It's perfectly normal for a bird to lose some weight while going through the weaning progress, so I wouldn't worry. :)

Hahnna is SUCH a cutie pie.

I love your little sweetie. That is one of my favorite birds too! I considered a hahns when i got my blue crown last year. I look forward to more photos and stories of her adventures as she grows up. :)
