I live in rural Nebraska and have always been a bird lover. As a kid, I had parakeets. Now, I have two cockatiels and a quaker, and am about to add a parrotlet. I also help my husband with his birds -- ducks and chickens. The kids love the parrots, which gives every bird plenty of attention. I always thought it'd be neat to have a rescue, but I would rather that any bird coming into my house is in his/her forever home. I am always looking to connect with fellow bird owners, especially in Nebraska.

Welcome to the forum!!!!

Parrotlets and Lovebirds can be little monsters. They don't play well with other birds. That's one thing you need to make sure is to keep them apart.

My Lory don't play well with others too and tonight it proves it. I was feeding everyone and my ekkies escaped and started crawling around their cage. My Lory escaped too and he flew right to the ekkie and started attacking, I intervene right away and my poor Gracie flew to me scared and huddled up against my chest. Between them two, my Lory will win, he can be a evil bird....That's why when other birds are out, he is usually locked up cause he will fly to them to attack. He can only come out by himself and he hangs all over me and never leaves me.

Hi there! Where about in Nebraska are you? I live right next door to Omaha in the Iowa state for now. (We'll be moving back north toward home eventually)

Have you got your parrotlet yet? I was wondering if there was a reliable breeder in the area?

:D
