:green:Hi Everyone

I am hoping to learn about my Parrot.. Well my Grandbaby Parrot. I have had him a year now,im pretty sure he's going to be staying a long time. I agreed to babysit him while my oldest Son went out West go get his career going and get on his feet. Well a year has gone by and Huney is still here with me. I have told my Son loving him from afar may be better for the bird. He's used to being in this environment now and has adapted very well. My Son was okay with that. He's a Senegal Parrot. He's gorgeous in color . I try learning as much as I can about him. I found this site while looking for ways to get rid of fruit flies. I got a bit overwhelmed with all the tactics on here .After I tried some solutions in the past few hours .I came back on here and I like it alot. Birds are loving and they need alot of tender loving care. My Huney actually talks. He doesnt say much but he sounds like me lol. I hope to learn more from here and share some parrot secrets and habits.. Thank , Kimberly

Welcome to the forum and to the wonderful world of Senegal they are slightly reserved but oh so funny and clownish with that (no one saw that did they?) attitude. Just tell your son thank you for not leaving you and empty nest but filling it with Huney.

A BIG welcome from Texas! lol. I considered a Senegal as they are so beautiful, but happened upon a baby in need (just yesterday) and today I'm so totally in love lol. He's a Meyer's :). This is a great place. Post some pics when you can.

Hi huney if you could give us more info on him then we would be able to tell you what species he is am guessing that he is in the amazon species maybe a blue fronted am I right? Also welcome to the forums we will be happy to advise you in any way possible.

welcome to the forum there are a lot of senagle owners out there. as far as fruit flies try leaving a couple of small dishes of apple cider vinegar on the counter and they should be attracted to them ,climb in for a drink and drown themselves. Alison and sweetie pie:D

Hi Huney and welcome from louisiana. I havent been on here long but I have learned alot from others. I to have the fruit fly problem. I havent tried the apple cider vinegar but it seems they will drown themselves in beer too. I put some in a glass, coverered with saran with holed poked in..seems to be working, lil suckers are in there. Anyway, I hope ya stick around..
