Hello guys, I'm new to the forum and I hope to visit often in the future.
I've owned 3 cats and I've always been an animal lover, but I find these to be too independent and not fit for the relationship I'm seeking.
Recently (about 1 month and a half ago) I decided I wanted to get a parrot, and in my head I was imagining a macaw, the typical pirate bird that everyone thinks of when they think about parrots.
But after reading al ot and watching videos on the topic, I stopped on two choices: an African grey or a conure.
I fell in love with conures in the first place because they were so playful, smart, cuddly and loving.
But then I learned about greys, and thinking that I could own a small animal thats on par with chimpanzees and dolphins for intelligence amazes me. I also like the fact that they're very social and require constant stimulation from their owners.
All in all, I'm planning to always take the bird out of his cage, train him to do a few tricks and really be best friends with him. Right now if I could buy one I'd choose a grey but maybe I'm missing out on positives of having a conure instead. I hope you all can enlighten me on the positives/negatives of both species.
Thanks!
