Hi everyone,
Have just taken ownership of an African grey called Harry, I'm new to birds so am rushing to catch up on any tips to make his life the best it can be. He was given to me by a customer at work who wanted to rehome him as they cannot give him the time he deserved, they had him 12yrs and before that he was in a restaurant foyer so not had a good time.
I'm told he is about 40 and set in his ways and very nervous, understandably so. I've had him a few weeks now and really settled now i think so am trying to get him more used to us and get less nervous of everything. Am reading all the tips posted on here but taking some time as there seems some good helpfull hints out there.
I'm sure i will have some questions i hope someone can help with but for now i'm sticking to the do's and don't until i know more.

Welcome to the forums I'm no pro when it comes to greys but they are beautiful birds there are a number of grey owners on the forums including ant her 4 year old mishka is the forums celebirdy maybe you could talk with her I'm sure she will be able to give you some great advice. :)

Welcome! I strongly recommend the African Grey Parrot Handbook. It will answer most any question you can come up with. You can get it on Amazon!

Cheers, will look out for it.
I understand the greys are one of the hardest to keep so am trying as much as i can to learn quickly.
He is a great bird and has been quite a tonic to the family with his funny ways and sayings. Being an older bird he does seem a bit grumpy at times but then arn't we all
