Hey everybody!
A bit about myself, I've been raising birds for a few years and am hooked on parrots for life! We dairy farm and I have a small herd of dairy goats that are kept as pets and to provide milk for the house to make cheese, yogurt and ice cream. We also have horses that are used to herd the cows and to check fences (or just to ride and have fun) Anyway, that's a bit about me. I recently bought an unproven pair of Eclectus and came across this site while I was looking for more information on these beautiful birds. Hoping the more experienced Eclectus breeders will offer advice on breeding, diet and general care. Looking forward to "meeting" you all! Melissa in MN

Hi Melissa, welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy your stay.....along with your collection of farm animals, seems you've got yourself a variety of companion parrots also.....how long have you had your multiple bird affliction?

I've had birds for almost 5 years now, it actually started out with buying a canary for my Dad and kind of snowballed from there :) I now breed birds and handfeed the babies, currently handfeeding 2 sun conures (Kiwi and Mango who are weaning) and a blue black mask lovebird (Betsy) She is such a sweetie!

Hello and welcome, Melissa! You have an interesting group of flock mates there! Is there a chance you'd share their photos with us?

Not trying to hijack FFM's thread, but just realized you're out by the old Schofield Barracks & Wheeler Field, so figure you & hubby must be Army types SS.....

Yes, and the fact that you know that means you are as well?

My bird room is part of our house, I check the nestboxes once a day and then make sure they have plenty of fresh food and water, all of my birds (pets and breeders) get vegetables and fresh fruits. Was something disturbing your pairs while they were nesting?

Did a couple of posts completely disappear or is it just my computer? Did I miss something?

Nope, sorry, lived there in the 50s, did some work at a tennis club next to the airport, a downtown hotel in the 80s & did a HS report on December 7th, so remembered the names, just had to do some thinking to remember where from.....I was AF in the 60s & 70s.....

Weco: I keep getting email notifications that new replies have been made, then come here and I can't see them. I can't see your message either, just replying from what I read in the email notification. Also it says that there are 2 pages here and I can only read the first page. Also someone from India asked me a question, which I replied to and his/her posts are gone. I'm just having trouble I guess :)

That used to bug me when I first signed up, but if you go back and deselect E-mail notification of your posts and replies thereto, you'll quit getting the E-mail notices.....click your name/link in the top right corner of any page you're on & that will take you to your dashboard, settings or whatever else they may call it.....

If you reply out of forum, i.e., E-mail, they won't show up on the forums.....if I've erred in my reply, all of our moderators are Super Moderators and have unique powers..and I'm pretty sure one or more of them will jump in, slap my hand & correct me.....

weco: The post above is the last one I can read in this thread, even though it says there are 2 pages. The email notices aren't bothering me, I was just wondering where the replies are because I'm not seeing them on here. I typed the post above answering the guy from India and now when you read the whole thread this post seems irrelevant :)

I'm not seeing any of your posts either.

Just dawned on me, that you also have to refresh/reload the page you're looking at to see any replies that you post and any subsequent posts by others.....

Ffm, sorry you are having difficulty, i wish I knew how to help. Weco, that is a very fun connection. I imagine that a paper on dec. 7th would indeed lead names of places near my home to sound familiar!

weco: I've tried reloading the page, clicking the link in the notification emails etc. It takes me to page 1 but when I click next or page 2 it just loads page 1 again. I don't know what to do, could I have something set wrong??

We are indeed on page 2. :)

And yes, some posts HAVE disappeared for a very valid reason.

Welcome to the forum :)
