hey all my names mick and i have just got my first parrot

he is a 6yr old male red-bellied macaw and im just looking for some info on how to look after him properly. He is called billy and hes quite a lively character although he is not hand tame. He isnt very vocal but he knows how to strut lol should i be looking for a mate for him or will he be happy solo . Im new to this and i only got him by chance but am already very attatched to him and want to make him as happy as possible so any advice would help

hi welcome! Solo is best for now as they are happy just being with you and it will be easier for you to bond with just one bird at a time. Make sure he has lots to play with and a diet of pellets (non colored ones) some seed, nuts, fresh fruits and veggies. Would love to see pics!
