Hello friends.
There is a herbal drink that I make and share with my Conures (about 8 to 10 times a month). I do it in the mornings while spending time with them.
This has been a ritual over last many years. It started when kiwi was a baby. Now she is almost 9 years and Zeus who came to us about a year and half back also enjoys this.
So I thought maybe all conures and other parrots may love it and I should share the recipe of herbal drink for everyone’s benefit.
Recipe:
I make about half litre mix so adjust quantity accordingly.
Ginger
Fresh Haldi (turmeric)
Lemon grass
Cardamom
Lemon zest
Tulsi leaf (Holy basil)
Rose bud or leaf
boil all this reducing the water from 1 ltr to half.
Add fresh lemon juice, sprinkle chopped almond. Serve.
I only use fresh ingredients so if something is not available then I skip it. And everything is little bit in quantity.
I share 2 spoons with each bird. They always love it. On very rare occasions they not in mood to drink then I don’t ask twice. This has happened maybe 2 or 3 times in years.
