Help with sexing new birdy

I bought 2 parakeets from a pet store. These two seemed to be bonded as they were at the water bowl grooming each other. The pet store thought one was male and one female. They are both young but the female appears to be older. She is tamer and has already taken to me. Can someone look at the pic and tell me if she is a female?

My guess is female, and definitely younger than the other budgie. However, being young it would be harder to determine the gender.

Way too young to tell their genders...Their Ceres can continue to change colors up until they go through puberty, and usually with Budgies you can't tell their genders visually until they are around a year old and you know that their Ceres are finally their permanent colors. With these two Budgie there isn't even any way to guess their genders, as they look to be very young, probably both under 6 months old, so there's no way to guess...Especially with the green-pied one in the first photo, the cere is light blue but there is a lot of white, and a Budgie with a blue cere and white rings around each nostril is Female, so that could go either way. You just have to wait at least a few more months...

Female Budgie Cere: Solid Tan, Brown, Cream, or White, and Blue with white rings around each nostril

Male Budgie Cere: Solid Blue, Purple, or Pink

That's what I was thinking! His cere is so blue. Another question? How much should I be handling them right now? We got them on Tuesday. I had 2 cockatiels years ago but I don't remember much about the taming process!
